This is a step by step, detailed account with Screenshots, of how to setup a new POP email account in Microsoft Outlook. This should be the same, if not very similar, for all versions of Outlook.
In Microsoft Outlook go to the 'Tools' menu and then 'E-mail Accounts'
This will open the E-mail accounts wizard.
Select 'Add a new e-mail account' and then click the 'Next' button.
You will enter the 'Server type' page. Select 'POP3' and then click the 'Next' button.
Setup your 'Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)'
Enter your name into the 'User Information' 'Your name' field.
Enter your email address as supplied to you by Digital Forest into the 'E-mail. Address' field.
Under 'Server Information' on the right;
Enter your domain as supplied by Digital Forest into the 'Incoming mail server (POP3)' field
Enter your domain as supplied by Digital Forest into the Outgoing mail server (SMTP)' field
Under Login Information
Enter your Username as supplied by Digital Forest into the 'User Name' field.
Enter your Password as supplied by Digital Forest into the 'Password' field
Optionally select the check box 'Remember password'.
Click on the 'More settings' button.
Select the 'Outgoing Server' tab and click the check box 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication'
Select the 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server'
Click the 'OK' Button at the bottom, you have just set up SMTP Authentication, which helps us fight spam.
You should now be back at the E-mail Accounts Wizard, where you can click the 'Test Account Settings' This should give you all ticks! and send a test mail. Click the 'Close' button to close this window. then click the 'Next' button in the E-mail Accounts wizard screen and once you have got the congratulations screen you can click the 'Finish' button.
Your new account should now be setup. If you have multiple email accounts you should be able to select which account you use to send messages in the 'Accounts' drop down menu in the toolbar of a new message.
